Frequently asked questions.

How can physiotherapy support me during cancer treatment?

Physiotherapy can help maintain or rebuild strength, endurance and mobility. The aim is to relieve symptoms and make everyday activities easier. Treatment is adapted to your condition, ongoing therapy and personal capacity for physical activity.

Can I exercise during chemotherapy or radiotherapy?

In many cases, adapted movement is possible and helpful during treatment. Whether and how you can exercise should be agreed with your oncology care team. The type, duration and intensity depend on how you feel that day and any limitations. If you have acute symptoms or are unsure, we first clarify what level of activity is suitable for you.

What can I do about fatigue, loss of strength or limited mobility?

An individually tailored movement programme can help reduce fatigue and improve strength and mobility. We start with manageable exercises and adapt physical demands gradually. Breaks and recovery are part of the programme.

What happens at the initial assessment?

At your first appointment, we discuss your current treatment, symptoms and goals. We assess your mobility, strength and physical capacity, taking medical recommendations into account. Together, we plan the next steps. Please bring any relevant medical reports you have and your medical referral.

Do you work with my oncologist?

Coordination with your oncology care team is an important part of care. With your consent, we can consult them when needed and incorporate medical instructions into physiotherapy.

Do I need a medical referral?

You need a medical referral for treatment to be billed to compulsory basic health insurance. Without a referral, you can receive treatment if you pay for it yourself. We are happy to discuss questions about referrals and insurance coverage before your first appointment.

Where does treatment take place?

Treatment takes place at our practice at Beethovenstrasse 24, 8002 Zürich, near Paradeplatz. You can find directions on our location page.
